Putting safety first
Safety is always our top priority.
Customer and community safety is essential, and we have systems and procedures in place to protect the public during the course of normal business operations as well as in the unlikely event of an emergency. Emergency plans are regularly tested, reviewed and approved by state governments and federal regulatory agencies.
We also conduct information nights in our power plant communities to keep the lines of communication open with local residents. We hold educational programs at schools to teach energy safety, and we train contractors, excavators and first responders.
The entire Exelon family of companies – Atlantic City Electric,
BGE, Delmarva Power, ComEd, Constellation, Exelon Generation, PECO and Pepco – educate their customers and communities about the importance of safety. They provide information and safety tips on their websites, through social media, in mailers, at community events and through other channels.
