Three Mile Island serves meals, helps senior citizens this holiday season

Tis the season to bring good cheer. On Wednesday, December 19 employees from Three Mile Island ensured many in our local community would have a brighter holiday.

During the annual Royalton Senior Center Holiday Luncheon, Site Vice ROYALTON 2.jpgPresident Ed Callan, presented a check for $5,000. The site contribution will help pay food costs and improvement to the center in 2019. Dauphin County Commissioners Mike Pries and George Hartwick III  and Rep. Tom Mehaffie (R-Lancaster County) spoke to the importance of having TMI part of the community.

"I always look forward to coming to the Royalton Sr. Center luncheon," said Callan. "To give back this time of year to our great neighbors means the world to me."

Many were grateful of the donation and the time spent with those living in the golden years in Royalton.

Just down the street in the city of Lancaster, several employees put on WATER ST 1.jpghairnets and served meals at the Water St. Mission on Prince St. Employees from TMI's decommission planning team spent a couple hours dishing our nourishment and conversation to those at the mission.

"My heart is full," said Reactor Engineer Mara Levy. "We do outreach all-year, but it means that much more to spend time in our community around the holiday season. I hope we can do this again next year."
