Although Oyster Creek is no longer generating electricity, the energy of its employees, particularly when it comes to caring for the community, is more powerful than ever!
This holiday season, Oyster Creek's 300 employees spearheaded three campaigns to help their neighbors in need.
In October and November, employees donated two full carloads of nonperishable foods to the FoodBank of Lacey Township.
Then, the team donated hundreds of brand new toys for children fighting cancer, through Gabriel's Toy Drive. Spearheaded by an Oyster Creek employee whose family was personally affected by childhood cancer, the toys were personally delivered to the Bristol-Meyer Squib Children Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
Finally, Oyster Creek employees donated nearly $3,000 worth of winter coats and cozy accessories in its Warmest Wishes Coat Drive. Nearly 100 pieces of outerwear were donated to the Head Start of Ocean County and will be given to the families of children in need.
