Some 22 governmental, civic and community movers and shakers learned about Oyster Creek's plans for shutting down and entering into decommissioning at the recent Stakeholder Information Forum, held in the station's newly opened Hall of Memories.
During the two-hour meeting, Site Vice President Tim Moore talked about how Oyster Creek employees continue to focus on excellence in the station's last few months of operation. Then, Decommissioning Director Jeff Dostal gave a high-level explanation of the decommissioning process and spent fuel storage.
The SIF meetings will be held periodically for state, county and local stakeholders to gain a better understanding of the process so they can discuss issues with their constituencies and organization members.
The Hall of Memories is an exhibition-style museum that celebrates Oyster Creek's history, legacy and impact on the community. The Hall is open by appointment and for special events.
