On April 23, members of R.E. Ginna Nuclear Power Plant's chapter of North American Young Generation in Nuclear (NAYGN) hosted a group of students from Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) as part of the station's outreach efforts. The students were physics majors and asked excellent technical questions about how nuclear energy works, from core design to how operators control reactivity. The tour included a discussion on careers in the nuclear industry and day-to-day responsibilities at the plant.
Ginna employees eagerly volunteered their time to talk with the group, sharing their expertise and passion for nuclear energy. Supporting this event is just one of the ways Exelon Generation employees show their commitment to mentoring and motivating tomorrow's leaders through science, technology, engineering and math (STEM).
