Exelon Generation's Scott Deal and the First Church of the Nazarene’s Mission Team

Exelon employees are committed individual volunteers. We encourage them to support the causes they’re passionate about.

Making a lasting impact in communities local and abroad

Scott Deal is the Station Fire Marshall at Clinton Power Station, and has been a volunteer for the First Church of the Nazarene’s Mission Team for 6 years.
Scott guides mission teams to rebuild homes and churches for low-income individuals in the US, Mexico and Nicaragua. He also serves as the team's medical assistant to handle emergency treatments when needed.

The Mission Team is currently sponsoring an eye training clinic to teach team members how to provide proper care for individuals needing treatment. The church also facilitates a food and clothing pantry, an addiction recovery program, and a program that offers household maintenance for those in need.

About Exelon’s Energy for the Community Volunteer Awards Program

Exelon makes grants totaling $200,000 in honor of 24 outstanding employee volunteers for their work in the community. Nonprofits will receive grants of $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000. Since 2007, the awards program has recognized 180 employees and provided more than $1.3 million to their nonprofit partners.

At Exelon, individual initiative drives our success.

Volunteerism is part of who we are. Our employees are purpose-driven in their work – and also on their own time. In 2016, 6,700 Exelon employees spent more than 171,000 hours volunteering with nonprofits in the diverse communities we serve. We encourage them to track their hours so we can recognize and reward their work.
