Question: Why do you enjoy engineering?
Answer: Engineering is challenging. Half of the fun is the excitement from figuring out the solution to a difficult problem.
Q: What is the coolest coolest thing you've done while working for Exelon?
A: Getting to see and do the things that a non-nuclear worker doesn't get to do. I've stood over a nuclear reactor. I've been to the top of the Dresden Unit 1 containment. I've gotten to see new fuel assemblies being made. And I've gotten to teach nuclear power to school-age kids. All of these have made my nerdy heart happy.
Q: How do you see your job changing in the next 5 years?
The Reactor Engineering group, like any group, will be adapting to incorporate new technology, streamlined processes, and a younger generation of employees.
Q: What is your most stereotypical "engineer" trait?
A: My husband and I will nitpick movies on engineering details. We make a competition of it and it's 'just a bit' nerdy.
