Bob Pakidis Receives Merit Award for Volunteer Efforts

Donating time and energy is one of the best ways to power a cleaner and brighter future for our communities. Through volunteerism, Exelon employees help improve the quality of life for people in the communities where they live, work and serve. Clinton power station is honored to have Bob Pakidis recognized as one of the ten recipients of Exelon's 12th annual Energy for the Community Employee Volunteer Awards

For more than six years, Bob has been contributing to Clinton AMVETS Post 14, helping to meet the needs of DeWitt county's Veterans through moral, financial, citizenship and family support. Their motto: Veterans Supporting Veterans. Bob is a veteran himself, and he often delivers meals with his son Robert to veterans living alone who don't get many visitors, especially around the holidays. He says that nothing is more rewarding than watching their faces light up when he arrives.

Bob has been involved in virtually every activity on the AMVETS calendar, including fundraising, working with Boy Scouts on community activities, flag retirement ceremonies home visits and the Honor Guard ceremonies. He even facilitated a fundraising day at the Clinton Power Station to benefit the Danville Illinois Veterans Hospital.

For all his contributions, Bob received the 2016-2017 AMVETS Post 14 "Veteran of the Year" award. Bob loves to watch the generations of people working together to make life better for those who served our country and support our country. When you see Bob, thank him not only for his hard work and dedication to Clinton Power Station, but also for his hard work and dedication to his community.
