2019 Wreath Laying

Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station employees along with family and friends, area Veterans and local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops laid 680 Christmas wreaths upon the Veteran's graves at Slate Ridge, Slateville and Mount Nebo cemeteries. Michael McMullen, Nuclear Material Coordinator and Exelon Militaries Actively Connected (EMAC) lead at Peach Bottom spear-headed the effort, for the fifth consecutive year.
Despite rain and temperatures in the low 40's, nearly 60 people turned out to help with the effort. This is the largest turn out in event history according to McMullen. “I can’t thank our volunteers enough. We do this every year to honor local departed Veterans. There are no thank yous yet our group keeps growing. It means a lot,” said Mike. “It is an important way we are a part of the Delta community. Many of the veterans we honor no longer have family in the area, and we will not let them be forgotten.”

Once the wreaths were placed, a buffet lunch was provided for the volunteers by Delta Pizza. According to Mike, “Nick and Sal were extremely generous and went above and beyond. The volunteers appreciated it after a cold morning.”

“We are always happy to support Exelon with their charity efforts,” said Sal Ferranti, Owner of Delta Pizza. “They give so much back to our community, it’s one way we can give back to them.”
