Military service has played an integral role in the lives of many Exelon employees. The skills learned during their time of service are beneficial for a wide variety of jobs within our industry. We value the leadership abilities, critical thinking skills, adaptability and energy that veterans bring to the business, as we celebrate Veterans Day and every day.
Exelon’s values align with many of the values of the military – safety, excellence, dedication and accountability, and we are dedicated to
recruiting and supporting veterans in our workforce. We are proud to have fostered award-winning programs to provide opportunities for America’s veterans. Today, veterans make up 12 percent of our employee base, exceeding the 10 percent employment goal set last year.
In addition to our hiring commitment, we have an active Employee Resource Group for veterans – Exelon Militaries Actively Connected (EMAC). EMAC adds to our business on multiple levels, including the promotion of a positive workplace environment for those with prior military service. It also enables networking across Exelon and our operating companies. EMAC helps connect veterans to many of our public affairs and community service events.
Exelon also participates in recruiting programs like the 100,000 Jobs Mission, Hiring 500,000 Heroes and Michelle Obama and Jill Biden’s Joining Forces initiative. We provide resources to these efforts to help provide veterans with the best opportunities possible.
We are proud to honor and support veterans as they apply their skills, leadership and knowledge within our business and community. From everyone at Exelon, we are grateful to all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our nation.
