Girl Scouts use STEM to Change the World—One Cookie at a Time. 
To celebrate its 100th anniversary, The Girl Scouts are holding a Bling Your Booth Challenge. The troop that creates the coolest booth wins $3,000 dollars. Chicago Troop 60194 wanted to use science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) to build something big—very big. They enlisted Exelon’s help to create a solar-powered, 3D-printed cookie booth. 

Troop 60194 is taking the Girl Scout’s challenge a step further. They’re aiming to raise enough money to deliver 500 boxes of cookies to wounded veterans in Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Follow their journey to use STEM to build a brighter tomorrow.

​ComEd welcomes Girl Scout Troop 60194​​​

As the Girl Scouts Troop 60194 train makes its way to the final goal of donatin​g cookies to wounded veterans in Washington, D.C., the scouts stopped to sell cookies in their solar-powered booth at ComEd’s Oakbrook Terrace offices. Watch to hear the girls talk about supporting veterans, learning about renewable energy and, of course, the cookies.​

It's one thing to learn about electricity and solar energy, apply those lessons and design your own cookie booth. It's another to take that knowledge on the road and share with your peers so they, too, develop passion for a STEM education. ​Troop 60194 Delivers on Their Promise to Wounded Veterans

Operation Cookie Drop traveled to Baltimore and Washington, D.C., as the Girl Scouts of Troop 60194 achieved their goal of delivering cookies and care packages to wounded veterans. Watch the scouts meet and play games with veterans at Loch Raven VA Community Living and Rehabilitation Center.​

GIRL SCOUTS SEE SUSTAINABILITY FIRSTHAND AT EXELON’S BALTIMORE HEADQUARTERS

During their trip to deliver cookies and care packages to wounded veterans in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., Troop 60194 toured Exelon’s headquarters at Harbor Point. The scouts marveled at the building’s full-scale solar panels – a bigger version of they use to power their cookie booth – and then learned about energy trading and sustainably sourced materials.
